6. Do you focus on residential inspection?
Shawn Chesney Home Inspections is qualified and certified to perform inspections covering many different scopes. Residential is a main component of our Business and through customer feedback, far exceeds expectations.

7. Will you offer to do repairs or improvements?
Shawn Chesney Home Inspections will not provide any repair or improvements to your property. Our strict Code of Ethics prohibits this and for good reason. You want to feel secure and confident that your Inspector is there working on your behalf on the condition of the property being inspected, not trying to find ways to earn extra business through repairs or improvements. When we are asked to recommend a contractor, we follow the same guidelines, we can only recommend research and checking references, making sure there is adequate and the appropriate insurances and licenses if required.

8. How long will the inspection take?
Shawn Chesney Home Inspections usually take 3 to 4 hours on average. This is not true in all cases, many different factors can directly affect the amount of time it takes, such as access, age and size of a property, the amount of furniture or other belongings that obstruct any inspection. We do not hurry any inspection to attend any other appointments. We do the best and most complete inspection every time.

9. What’s the cost?
Costs can and do vary dramatically, depending on your location, the size and age of the house, and the scope of services. The national average for single-family homes is about $350 to $400, but customers with large homes or detached buildings including garages and shed etc can expect to pay more. Shawn Chesney Home Inspections always include Thermal Imaging. Many other companies charge extra and on top of the national average for the Thermal Imaging service.

10. What type of inspection report do you provide?
Shawn Chesney Home Inspections will provide an electronic copy of your report usually within 24 hours or the next business day. We are aware of timelines to remove conditions on Purchase Agreements and will always work to meet and exceed your expectations.

Shawn Chesney Home Inspections highly encourages attendance to the Inspection Service. We will be honest with you, the success of our business relies on referrals and customer satisfaction. We do not take our fee, provide a report and simply move on to the next client, we are there for your questions or to help wherever we can.
